Safari Overview
This 4 day Gorilla and Wildlife Safari takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, to trek Mountain Gorillas and to interact with the former forest people, the Batwa, who will memorize you with stories about their former life as gathers, hunters, warriors, blacksmith, and herbalists. You will tour the Queen Elizabeth National Park and marvel at the incredible bio-diversity of wildlife and the amazing picturesque volcanic features (gorges, caves and crater lakes) that make this park magnificent. You will crown your safari with a relaxing boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel to see water animals and birds basking on the shores.

Itinerary Details
Day 1: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
You will be picked up by our safari guide from your Hotel in Kigali or from Kigali Airport depending on your arrival time and cross to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in Uganda. Dinner and overnight will be at lodge of booking.
Accommodations:
Midrange: Gorilla Mist Camp /Rushaga Gorilla Camp/ Mutanda Lake Resort.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi and Batwa Visit.
You will have an early morning breakfast and move to the Park headquarters to join other trackers in a briefing about the Gorilla trekking rules at 7:00am. You will thereafter trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the Gorillas, which can take you 2-8 hours. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access by tourists. Once sighted, you will spend one hour with the Gorillas observing at close range as they feed, communicate, play and bond with their young. The experience is awesomely humbling and one that will leave you with memories of a lifetime. You will return to your lodge for lunch and if not exhausted set for a guided walking safari around the lodge. Alternatively, you will be taken to interact with the local communities to learn about their interesting forest-based activities, traditions and lifestyles. Dinner and overnight will be at your lodge of booking.

Day 3: Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Boat Cruise and Evening Game Drive.
You will after breakfast drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park through the beautiful scenery of this part of the country characterized by gigantic hills and steep valleys of volcanic origin covered with lush vegetation dotted with gardens and homesteads. You will get to Queen Elizabeth National Park through the southern part of the park (Ishasha sector) renowned for the tree climbing lions, which if you are lucky, will be seen hanging on Fig tree branches to cool off. You will have lunch at one of the lodges before continuing to the center of the park for an afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel to enjoy, at close range, the profusion of water animals and birds. Later in the evening, you will go for an evening game drive where you will expect to see buffaloes, lions, elephants and other wild life in their natural habitat. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge of your booking.

Mid-range: Ihamba Lodge/Bush Lodge in Band’s /Kasenyi Safari Camp/Twin Lakes Lodge.
Day 4: Game drive and travel to Kampala/Kigali for Departure
You will wake up early and go for an early morning game drive. The park’s diverse ecosystem of grassy plains, tropical forest, rivers, swamps, lakes and volcanic craters is home to an incredible abundance of wildlife. You will see buffaloes, lions, elephants and other wild life in their natural habitat after which you will return to the lodge for a late breakfast and transfer to Kampala/Kigali arriving late in the afternoon.
